Brenna's review for this week is THE BLACK MAMBAS THE WORLD'S FIRST ALL-WOMAN ANTI-POACHING UNIT by Kelly Crull. I cannot say enough about this book! The title alone gave me goosebumps. This is the story of fearless, brave women doing important work. I was struck by how Crull used such simple kid-friendly language to convey such a big concept. I also loved the bit where he talked about the poachers and their perspective. He was able to instill empathy in the reader and offered the reason they think poaching will help their families and how the Black Mambas are not just protecting the animals but also trying to educate surrounding communities. I loved everything about this book. Don't walk RUN to get your copy!
